Car Trouble(Oh Yeah)....Automobile Trouble Question?
No not a question about the Adam and the Ants track, but wondered if any car experts on the good ship WHO might be able to help me?

Basicaly in the last few days, I have been getting this annoying problem with my car...a 2004 Micra. I drive off and then after about 200 yards it just tottaly dies on me! Leave it for about 20-30 seconds and its fine again and can travel on my merry way. Done it a couple of times, then was no problem for a couple of days and now has just happened again! As i said just seems to do it shortly after I set off, and then is ok(so far).

If any experts on here have got any sensible ideas, then would appreciate it. I have tried google(but but hasnt been any help really) and the knob wipping obviously, but no results.

Oh and yeah I know its a birds motor....before anybody pipes up! Cheers in advance.

How could anyone not love a track with the lyrics “I dreamt I was a spastic but my boots were clean?”

Definitely sounds like fuel starvation but this happen for a variety of reasons.
My old Saab did that for a while and it turned out to be a dodgy electrical contact in the ignition key barrel (which, of course, I found out after I had changed the fuel pump first).

The problem is it's a 2004 Micra. Scrap it and get a new motor.

Sounds Fuel pressure problem? Regulator or pump.
If it happens and you have someone in the car with you remove any spark plug lead
Cap and hold the end of it about inch away from the plug top, get your passenger to Try starting the car you should get a spark, if you have spark it's most likely fuel Problem.

I think your skirt may be getting in the way when you change gears.

I had a Micra as a courtesy car for a couple of weeks.

It felt like I was driving a toy.

And that was in comparison with a Punto, not something robust like an old-fashioned Landrover or similar.

It's God's way of telling you to get a proper mans car.

Guessing it’s a sensor , usually an airflow meter . Getting the engine hot and then running it at high revs may clear it .
